We have been involved in two projects with Brewdog, supplying mobile carbon filters for biogas upgrading and water treatment.
Brewdog’s aim is to become the most sustainable drinks brand on the planet, with a specific target of making their Ellon brewery completely carbon neutral within 24 months.
The company already makes extensive use of wind energy, but its latest initiative was to install a biomethane facility to convert brewery waste into renewable methane, to power its brewery as well as its fleet of vehicles.
Puragen was asked to supply two of its Clean-Flo® VOCSorber® carbon filters, to remove impurities from the biogas before upgrading it to grid-quality methane in a membrane-based system.
We also recently supplied one of our flagship Clean-Flo® 22-100 AquaSorber® liquid phase units to the Ellon facility, to treat water used on site. The vessel is filled with recycled activated carbon, produced at our UK reactivation facility, further contributing to the environmental credentials of the site’s activities.
We look forward to further collaboration with this innovative and dynamic organisation going forwards.
