Process Water Treatment
Puragen develops activated carbon solutions specifically designed to remove contaminants from process water to ensure high-quality output, protect equipment and support efficient, cost-effective operations.
Media and mobile filters adsorb organic compounds, disinfectants, and dissolved solids—enabling water reuse, waste reduction, and product integrity.

Contaminants we remove
Puragen’s process water applications remove a wide range of harmful contaminants, ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality process water.
- PFAS-group chemicals
Removal and destruction of PFAS compounds from process and wastewater using our award-winning technology and specially optimised FiltraPure® CH granular activated carbons - Chlorine and chloramine
Dechlorination of process water and chlorine disinfection byproducts, which can cause unwanted chemical reactions in sensitive processes - Dissolved volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
Removal of BTEX group, adsorbable organic halides (AOX), and hydrocarbons - Trace contaminants
Removal of pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceutical residues and other POPs - Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
Removal of industrial solvents and dissolved volatiles
Activated carbon products for Process Water Treatment
We provide a range of different carbon filtration media for process water applications.

Granular Activated Carbon (GAC)
For applications where water is passed through a bed of carbon in granular form. This carbon can be reactivated at Puragen’s award-winning facility.

Powdered Activated Carbon (PAC)
For applications where water is treated in a batch process, for example when dealing with seasonal spikes in pesticides. Powdered carbon cannot be reactivated.
Mobile filters for Process Water
Our mobile filters are optimised for a variety of water applications. We can adapt our filters to integrate with any specific site installation requirements
