We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Application Analyst, Zainab Naeem, who recently joined our Technical team, reporting to R&D Manager Andrew Gill.
Zainab, who lives in Sheffield, splits her time between our high-tech Advanced Analytical Laboratory, located at our Westthorpe HQ, and the R&D labs at our Centre of Technical Excellence, located within our Immingham reactivation centre.
She studied at Salford University, gaining a BSc in Petroleum and Mechanical Engineering, a Masters in Gas Engineering and Management, followed by a PhD where she focused on aerosol emissions and environmental protection in the petroleum and gas industry.
Zainab’s PhD involved the extensive use of mass spectroscopy, which will come in handy at our newly installed labs where we operate state-of-the-art LC-MS (liquid phase) and GC-MS (gas phase) analytical systems, testing customer samples to identify PFAS species and concentrations, for example.
Commenting on her new role, Zainab said, “It feels like the ideal time to be joining the Puragen Technical team, as the group’s analytical capabilities go from strength-to-strength. Being able to contribute my own ideas and experience to this process is particularly rewarding.”
We all wish Zainab every success in her new role, as the company continues to grow and our analytical capabilities will become increasingly important in our efforts address the most challenging environmental issues with our award-winning activated carbon products and services.
