Monday was a great day for our engineering subsidiary, Puragen Icon, with the shipment of fourteen brand new Clean-Flo® mobile carbon filters, a new record. Congratulations to Jamie Stewart and the whole Puragen Icon team for their hard work in achieving this result.
Ten AquaSorber® water treatment filters were shipped to our sister company in mainland Europe, Puragen, and four VOCSorber® gas phase units were added to the UK fleet.
It was great to see so many brand new mobile filters sitting outside the facility, resplendent in corporate blue and fully branded.
The AquaSorber® units are mainly used for soil/groundwater remediation and industrial wastewater applications, whereas the VOCSorber® filters tend to be used for biogas purification, odour control and general VOCs abatement.
Both designs are 2m3 filters, holding approximately 1000kg of our high quality FiltraCarb® activated carbon media. The AquaSorber® is suitable for flow rates up to 12 m3/h and connects to customers’ installations via DN50 (2″) stainless steel valves. The use of stainless steel pipework and accessories, plus an approved internal lining, means these AquaSorber® units can also be used for small-scale potable water treatment, or for beverage purification applications.
The VOCSorber® design is suitable for typical flow rates up to 1,500 m3/h, although this can be increased provided there is sufficient contact time between the activated carbon bed and the fluid being treated. Higher flow rates may also cause pressure drop issues, meaning more powerful pumps are required at the customer site. Connection is via 150 NB PN16 flanges.
These mobile carbon filters form just part of our extensive Clean-Flo® mobile filter range, available in sizes ranging from 180 litre drums through to very large 22-30m3 units, standing over 7 metres tall and delivered to customer sites on dedicated tipping trailers.
