Halal & Kosher Certifications

Puragen achieves Halal and Kosher Accreditation for its Regen-Sys Spent Carbon Reactivation Process at Puragen Immingham

Puragen is pleased to have been awarded Halal and Kosher certifications for our ‘green list’ carbon reactivation facility at Immingham, UK.

This spent carbon reactivation plant is dedicated to recycling carbon adsorbants used in food grade and drinking water purification processes.  Thanks to the efforts of our technical and production teams, the achievement of Halal and Kosher accreditations will allow us access to a wider range of customers in the food industry, particularly in the area of sweetener purification.

There are numerous environmental and economic benefits associated with recycling spent activated carbon, rather than disposing of it and replacing it with new/virgin material.  We have calculated that our reactivation process offers a carbon footprint reduction of over 90% compared with virgin carbon use.

If you use granular or pelletised activated carbon in your processes, please talk to Puragen about the safe and efficient reactivation of your spent material.
