Some good news for the UK Biomethane sector:
The UK Government’s BEIS Department has published its response to the Consultation on the Green Gas Support Scheme (GGSS). Starting later this year, and running for four years, the GGSS will support biomethane injected into the gas grid from AD biogas plants, through a 15-year tariff. The tariff has three tiers, which will be at the top end of range of tariffs that were being considered – this is a positive result for the industry and its trade association, the Renewable Energy Association (REA), who discussed the details of the system in detail with BEIS, on behalf of its members.
Puragen is a leading supplier of carbon filtration solutions into the biomethane sector, with a range of specialised carbons and VOCSorber mobile carbon filters. We can also recycle spent activated carbon at our thermal reactivation facility in Immingham, where we have separate kilns for industrial (‘amber list’) and potable water (‘green list’) carbons.
