Full Service Approach
At an interesting landfill gas project, a mixture of contaminants required two mobile carbon filters containing different activated carbons.
In one filter we selected a coconut-shell activated carbon, to remove short-chain linear siloxanes from the biogas stream. In the second filter, an impregnated coal-based carbon was used to remove hydrogen sulfide (H2S),
which is toxic, corrosive and odorous.
This project was a typical example of our ‘full service’ approach:
- Understanding the customer’s process issues and selecting optimised activated carbons to address these specific contaminants;
- Supplying the product in our VOCSorber® mobile filters, produced in-house by our engineering subsidiary;
- Installation of all necessary pipework to allow simple connection of the two filters;
- Full Site Service support and supervision of the installation;
- Future take-back and recycling of the spent carbon at our award-winning reactivation site, the only ‘amber list’ facility in the UK.
