We take issues relating to health and safety incredibly seriously here at Puragen. Many of our team – including sales, technical, production and QA – have successfully studied for NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications, but we decided to takes things a huge step further by applying for the company-wide ISO45001 standard.
After an 18 month process, and a great deal of hard work by our Technical Manager Matthew Webb, assisted and advised by Puragen’s Group Health Safety & Compliance Manager Russell Niven, with support from a wide selection of colleagues from across the whole team, we have been successful in achieving our ISO45001 accreditation. The thorough audit process, by Bureau Veritas, covered our management system at our Wigan HQ as well as the production facility at our Immingham reactivation centre.
Commenting on the success of the team in achieving this certification, our MD Steve Bell stated, “This demonstrates our company’s willingness to become a leader in the industry, with a commitment to drive our business operations towards an inbuilt safety culture. As we celebrate this remarkable accomplishment, let us not forget that this is just the beginning. We must simultaneously work to sustain the standards we have set for ourselves and strive to improve our operations continually as we incorporate this certificate into an Integrated Management System which will also includes ISO9001 and ISO14001.”
The ISO45001 certification, alongside our existing ISO9001 and 14001 standards, sends a strong message to our growing customer base, regarding our commitment to quality, the environment and health & safety, and it is our understanding that we are the only supplier in our sector offering all three standards.
Congratulations to the whole team for this fantastic achievement!
