Puragen supplies activated carbon based filtration services that help remediation contractors purify soil and groundwater by removing a wide range of contaminants:
- PFAS and emerging contaminants
Puargen has developed award-winning technology for the removal, and destruction, of PFAS group chemicals, which include PFOS and PFOA, as well as a range of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) such as endocrine disruptors and pharmaceuticals - Various organic pollutants
Puragen’s GAC products are particularly well suited to the removal of BTEX group chemicals, adsorbable organic halides (AOX) and hydrocarbons from groundwater and soil remediation projects, as well as from landfill leachate - Odours and VOCs
Gas phase carbon filtration is perfect for removing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other odour-causing compounds, generated during remediation projects - Particulates
In addition to activated carbon, Puragen can also supply sand filters to work alongside our GAC units, to remove particulates in the treated water prior to organics removal with the activated carbon
Activated carbon products for Soil & Groundwater Remediation
Puragen supplies activated carbon media for remediation applications to ensure efficient and safe soil and groundwater clean-up.

Granular Activated Carbon (GAC)
For applications where the groundwater is passed through a deep bed of activated carbon, either an AquaSorber® mobile filter or a customers own fixed filter set-up, a range of FiltraPure® GAC products are available. We also offer larger sizes of GAC for gas-phase applications, such as VOC abatement.

Extruded Pellets
For the abatement of odours and the removal of VOCs, extruded activated pellets are typically used in VOCSorber® mobile filters. We use impregnated versions for inorganic contaminants like hydrogen sulfide and ammonia to enhance efficiency. We also offer large GAC grades for this application.

Sand
For some remediation projects it is necessary to pre-treat the groundwater through a sand filter, to remove particulates and prevent ‘blinding’ of the GAC filters. Puragen can offer this service alongside our activated carbon filtration systems.
Mobile filters for Soil & Groundwater Remediation
Puragen supplies a wide range of mobile carbon filters for remediation projects, both for liquid phase and gas phase purification applications. These modular units are supplied on a rental and service basis and offer a convenient plug & play solution that requires no on-site carbon handling.
