Teamwork in Action!

At our spent carbon reactivation facility in Immingham, our QA team recently detected a slight change in the quality of the carbon exiting the kiln.

At our spent carbon reactivation facility in Immingham, our QA team recently detected a slight change in the quality of the carbon exiting the kiln.  This was quickly diagnosed as being caused by a crack in the kiln’s internal rotating drum, resulting in an immediate plant shutdown.  We hold a spare kiln tube in stock, and thanks to a great effort by all relevant teams – Operations, Engineering and R&D – the tube was replaced and the kiln was up and running again within 48 hours.

Thanks to the work of everyone involved, no customer orders should be delayed by this short outage. Another demonstration of why Puragen is “the active force in carbon”®.
