August 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of my joining the company. Over the past decade, I have had the privilege of witnessing a remarkable period of growth and transformation as the organisation has continued to go from strength to strength.
From CPL Carbon Link to Puragen
The company’s evolution has included several changes of identity. Over the years, we have progressed from CPL Carbon Link and CPL Activated Carbons to CPL/Puragen, before becoming Puragen as part of our global rebrand in 2025.
Each stage has reflected the continued growth of our business, capabilities and international presence, while further developing our expertise in activated carbon and sustainable environmental purification.
A Decade of International Growth
Our financial and geographical growth has been equally significant, driven by the organic expansion of the business and a series of strategic acquisitions.
In 2016, we were a relatively small activated carbon company operating from our Wigan office and serving predominantly the UK market. Fast-forward to 2026 and Puragen is now an international provider of sustainable purification services, supporting customers across numerous countries.
Our turnover is now more than 10 times higher than it was in 2016, an achievement that demonstrates the extraordinary scale of Puragen’s growth over the past decade.
Innovation, teamwork, entrepreneurial spirit and hard work have been central to this success. These qualities will remain fundamental as we expand our activated carbon products, purification services and environmental solutions in the years ahead.
Sharing Puragen’s Activated Carbon Expertise
My own role has also evolved significantly. What began as a traditional B2B marketing position has developed into a broader ambassadorial role for Puragen.
Conferences, exhibitions, trade-association events and direct engagement with customers and industry stakeholders have become important parts of my work. These opportunities allow me to raise awareness of the many industrial and environmental applications of activated carbon and to share Puragen’s knowledge with audiences around the world.
I particularly enjoy highlighting our award-winning solutions to complex purification challenges, including PFAS abatement and destruction and biomethane purification.
With nearly 40 public-speaking engagements already completed in 2026, I am grateful for the summer recess before the busy exhibition and conference season begins again in September.
