CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC PREPAREDNESS

While the global pandemic is posing challenges to our daily lives in many ways, Puragen remains dedicated to serving our customers, who provide essential goods and services in this great time of need.
Puragen continues to operate its Emlenton, Pennsylvania facility in order to provide solutions for our customers. We have changed our daily operations in accordance with guidance from the CDC, requiring our employees to practice social distancing if they feel well and to remain home if they don't, and for the manufacturing facility to operate with safe space distancing alongside the provision of hand sanitizers and sanitizing wipes.
We wanted to provide some further information about why we remain open in light of Governor Tom Wolf's recent announcement that only life-sustaining businesses are to remain open. His announcement came with a list of the industries that are considered life sustaining, and Puragen Emlenton operations qualify as a life sustaining business based on at least two definitions. First, beverage manufacturing is exempt and second, basic chemical manufacturing is exempt. Our products produced at Emlenton are critical to both the ongoing provision of purified water and the manufacture of respirators. Our customers are food and beverage makers, medical facilities, water and sewage utilities, and so many more.
Today, March 23, we received confirmation from the State of Pennsylvania that our business "plays a critical role in the manufacture and supply of goods and services necessary to sustain life, and may continue to operate."
Nothing is more important to us than our community, our customers, and our employees, so we are heeding all regulations and recommendations in order to slow the spread of this global pandemic.
As we provide a necessary service to sustaining our society, we will continue to remain open and don't foresee any interruptions in service, barring extreme changes. We will continue to give updates as the ongoing situation emerges.

Oxbow Activated Carbon has been acquired by a European investor group with over 15 years’ experience in the activated carbon business. We are delighted that the business has been recognized for its highly skilled global team of technical, sales and logistics professionals, together with its advanced processing facilities in Emlenton, Pennsylvania and Ternuezen, Netherlands.

West Palm Beach, FL – Oxbow Activated Carbon LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oxbow Carbon LLC, announces that it has acquired all the assets of Superior Adsorbents, Inc. (SAI). Terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.
Operating from its processing plant in Emlenton, PA, SAI is a supplier of over 20 different grades of proprietary microgranulated products incorporating coconut shell, coal and wood-based activated carbons. The asset purchase furthers Oxbow Activated Carbon’s continuing efforts to identify opportunities for strategic growth in key markets. Specifically, the acquisition will increase Oxbow Activated Carbon’s North American footprint and enhance its ability to provide customers with high performance screening, sizing, grinding, impregnation, pelletizing and custom packaging solutions.
SAI’s current management team will continue to lead the day-to-day operations of the business under Oxbow’s overall supervision.

Oxbow Activated Carbon, a leading independent distributor of activated carbon products, was pleased to exhibit at the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Annual Conference & Exhibition – ACE15 – at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA June 8-10, 2015.
In keeping with the show’s theme, “Uniting the World of Water,” the Oxbow Activated Carbon booth displayed technical product information about treating chlorine, chloramine, and other organic contaminants in water. The sales team managing the booth also showcased the company’s value-added offerings, including a global distribution network, technical aptitude, and individualized customer support and service.
Oxbow Activated Carbon joined hundreds of water treatment equipment and component manufacturers, activated carbon suppliers, and treatment system monitoring vendors exhibiting at ACE15. The show, which attracted more than 7,000 attendees, was an opportunity for the sales managers to make new industry contacts and raise the profile of the company’s new name in the marketplace. On February 2, 2015, Carbon Resources became Oxbow Activated Carbon after being acquired by Oxbow Carbon LLC, the world’s largest independent marketer and producer of petroleum and calcined coke, in July 2014.
